Artifact G: Research/Programming Development
|
This entry contains program development of a philanthropy event Bah Humbug Bingo in fall 2012 to benefit a local organization fighting HIV/AIDS. As my first major project as an adviser, this entry demonstrates my growth in large-scale program planning, community outreach, donation solicitation, and engaging students in an educational dialogue who may not be affected by HIV. The event was widely successful with over 200 students in attendance. We raised over $600 for Lifelong AIDS Alliance and won a distinguished program award from BACCHUS, a national organization for peer health educators on university campuses.
This entry addresses learning outcomes number 5 (Adapting student services to specific environments and cultures), number 6 (Developing and demonstrating skills in leadership and collaboration), and number 10 (Establishing and enhancing professional identity). |
