To my portfolio committee, colleagues, family, and friends:
Welcome to my e-portfolio for the Student Development Administration (SDA) program at Seattle University. I first want to extend my upmost gratitude and thanks for your constant support through this process. You all have made an impact on me through my time at Seattle University and pushed me to grow personally and professionally. Your time dedicated to reviewing my materials and providing me constructive feedback is invaluable.
I organized my portfolio using my favorite books to exemplify the different components and learning outcomes of the SDA program. For the overall theme, I am using my favorite playwrights and one of my favorite classics The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde. After I read Wilde’s masterpiece for the first time, I remember experiencing a full range of emotions. He is able to capture complex situations of identity development, negotiating roles in certain contexts, and ultimately, the importance of being ‘Earnest.’
My portfolio represents a journey of challenge and growth. These past two years feel like they have passed in an instant and yet I have changed a lot. I look forward to a healthy beginning in student affairs and excited to discover where I will go from here, whether in Seattle or another city. I hope you find my portfolio compelling and an illustration of my experience at Seattle University.
Kindest regards,
Brendon Soltis
